Sessions: Learning to Grow

Whenever I think of my start to this journey in photography, this family is one of the anchors. After my parents bought me my first “real” camera nearly 12 years ago, I began practicing on the oldest child in this family, then just a very little guy. I would take him to the park and play and photograph, go home and practice editing. My dad once joked that he was the most photographed little boy, I imagine he might have been at that time.

It was such a blessing to get to practice and learn within the realm of grace, where a good photo could be good and a poor photo could be motivation to do better. 12 years later I’ve photographed them as each milestone passed, including a new little sister who has been such a darling joy to watch grow as well.

Learning a passion around this sweet and supportive family is proof that when perseverance is surrounded by grace, the room to grow and flourish is endless.
