Garden Treats & Kingdom Surprises
Today Little Abear and I went and weeded at the garden with our dear friend J.
While we were still in the parking lot, we got a text from our adopted Auntie Dixie that she said she was going to bring us cupcakes, and so she did.
Not long after, my mom found us at the garden, and let Little Abear walk her around to show her his special things.
Family is everything, adopted or born. That’s what I love most about the Kingdom of God, all the family I get. Being an only child, I used to get really sad around the holidays, because I never felt “full” enough - our house always felt like it was missing a few people. Looking back, it was exactly the right amount of people, usually celebrated with my mom, dad and Gramma. But then Jesus took her home and I felt lonely again, like I lost most of my whole world.
But you know what God did? He gave me more family than I ever thought possible. Aunts, uncles, brothers & sisters, all a part of His Kingdom. People I can laugh with and cry with, be encouraged by and encourage. That same family is available to you, too. Jesus gives us more than we could ever want, He fills us abundantly with Himself and gives us God’s Kingdom which is big enough to take in all the only children and give them a multitude.
