Sessions: Seasoned Love

The best kind of love is seasoned.

It knows the life giving warmth of summer, the difficulty of winter, and the beauty of everything in between.

Years ago this couple spent time, and lots of it, investing in the lives of college kids. Pouring out their hearts, their time, their energy, their gifts, and I’m sure more that we never even knew about.

They showed up for the joyful things, the hard things, even letting people take over their guest room every once in awhile. And they are deeply loved by many for all of that.

But I think my favorite part about them is their dedication to one another above it all. Being in a room with them you just know that they’re best friends, soul mates, companions. It’s beautiful, and the kind of marriage I hope ours continues to grow more and more into.

I am so glad and thankful I got a few minutes with them in the just-before-sunset glow of spring, under a lovely lavender tree, to watch them just be who they always are together - friends in love.
